2023-2024 Yearbooks are in the office! If your child still attends BRCVPA, they have already been given their yearbooks. If they are no longer a student here, parents can pick up yearbooks in the front office between 9:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. Monday - Friday. We still have a limited number of yearbooks for sale in the front office. $30.00 each.

Good morning! BRCVPA is fortunate to have 4 Collection Point Buses at 3 Collection Points (Goodwood Library-2 , Southeast Middle-1 , Carver Library-1).

• These buses save both the parents and the school time every day! If we want to keep these buses, there are important safety rules that MUST be followed:
• Arrive EARLY for drop-off and pick-up.
• Other parents are not responsible for watching your child until you arrive.
• Treat the parking lot like the road, and follow the laws regarding buses. WHEN THE LIGHTS ARE FLASHING AND STOP SIGN IS OUT, CARS SHOULD NOT BE MOVING!
• This includes parents in cars who have already dropped off/picked up their child. Please remain PARKED until the school bus has left the parking lot.
• SAFETY IS THE #1 PRIORITY. Please use caution when entering and exiting the parking lot. School zone speed limits should be followed.

• Student Progress Center (JCampus)

  • Purpose: checking your child's grades, test scores, and discipline records
  • How to get set up: email [email protected] to request a PSN if you are not already connected.
• SchoolStatus
  • https://connect.schoolstatus.com/schools/baton-rouge-visual-and-performing-arts-center
  • Purpose: 2-way communication with your child's teachers and school staff, internal school announcements and reminders.
  • How to get set up: exisiting parents should already have an account. If you forgot your password, simply reset it. New parents should have received an invitation email to the email address on file in JCampus. If you did not please email [email protected]
• School Dismissal Manager (SDM)
  • https://www.schooldismissalmanager.com/schooladmin/default.asp
  • Purpose: notify school staff of change in afternoon transportation. You can also notify us if you plan to check out early, or check in late.
  • How to get set up: You should have received an email from “[email protected].” The subject line says: Baton Rouge Center for Visual and Performing Arts Parent Instructions & Details for School Dismissal Manager. Your credentials are in this email. You will receive a username and temporary password, and will be prompted to change your password upon log in. Please check your spam folder!

  • If you have not received your Welcome email, please email [email protected].
• BRCVPA App
  • Download the EBR Schools App from the App Store and select Baton Rouge Center for Visual and Performing Arts from the dropdown menu. Enable push notifications!
  • Purpose: Whole School Information, links to resources, schedules, and the calendar.
• Weekly Agendas

  • Purpose: to inform parents about what their children are learning, when they will be assessed, what the homework will be, and to provide additional resources and study materials.
  • How to get set up: The agendas are linked on the main page of our website, the Parent Resources Page, the app, in SchoolStatus, and above. You don't need to log in to anything. Just follow the link.
• Bus Departure Information

  • Purpose: to inform parents of bus riders what time the buses left the BRCVPA campus. This page also contains the bus numbers, driver information, and sub bus information if needed. This form is updated every afternoon.
  • How to get set up: This is linked in our app and on the website. No login required!
• Where's the Bus App
  • Purpose: GPS Bus Tracking of your child's bus. Also provides stop and route information.
  • How to get set up: Simply download the app, follow the prompts, and enter your information. Click here for a step-by-step guide (scroll down…it is multiple pages).
• BRCVPA on Social Media
  • Purpose: FUN! This is how you can see pictures of what is going on in the classrooms. We also post whole-school information and reminders about upcoming events.
  • How to connect: we have several “handles.”

​From BRCVPA to the Olympics in Paris. BRCVPA alum, Kenneth Hilliard, had the opportunity to design an Olympic uniform via a contest for the United States pair of Taryn Kloth and Kristen Nuss. Taryn and Kristen took to the sand on Thursday, August 1 in front of the Eiffel Tower wearing the uniforms he designed in a 2-1 victory over China. He was a talented art student at BRCVPA, and graduated from LSU in 2020 with a degree in graphic design. #ebrschools #180DaysofExcellence #BRCVPA #EBRMagnet EBR Schools

Until we have more families signed up in School Dismissal Manager, we are asking that parents complete this form each day for the first 3 days of school.

Please complete this form and let us know how your child will get home TOMORROW (8/8). We will enter the information into SDM on your behalf to make sure students get home safely.

We will send this form home daily for the first 3 days of school, and then make a full transition to School Dismissal Manager. Thank you for your partnership!
