Due to inclement weather forecasts and in the interest of safety for our students and staff, the East Baton Rouge Parish School System has made the decision to cancel classes districtwide on Wednesday, Sept. 11, through Thursday, Sept. 12.

The safety and well-being of our students, employees and their families remain our top priorities, and we believe that this measure is necessary given the predicted severe weather conditions. We encourage all families to take precautionary measures and to stay informed through reliable weather updates.
Please note that all after-school activities and events scheduled for Wednesday and Thursday week will also be canceled. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation during this time.
The district will adhere to normal dismissal procedures on Tuesday, all after-school activities are canceled for Tuesday afternoon (THIS INCLUDES BRCVPA EXTENDED DAY).

District staff will continue to monitor the situation closely and provide updates as needed. School will resume as usual on Friday, Sept. 13, 2024, unless otherwise communicated.

Beginning this Friday, September 6th BRCVPA will start Frozen Treat Fridays on select dates! Students can pay $2.00 for a frozen treat after lunch. This can be pre-paid, or students can pay the day of the event. Please send money to school in an envelope or ziploc bag with your child's name and "Frozen Treat Friday."

PARENTS WISHING TO PAY FOR THE SEMESTER ALL AT ONCE (8 dates) can send $14.00 per student In a sealed envelope OR ZIPLOC BAG marked "frozen treat friday" with your child's name.. You can also pay online (entire semester only). please do not send more than this semester's payment. THE ONLINE PAYMENT SYSTEM CLOSES THE DAY BEFORE FROZEN TREAT FRIDAY.

2023-2024 Yearbooks are in the office! If your child still attends BRCVPA, they have already been given their yearbooks. If they are no longer a student here, parents can pick up yearbooks in the front office between 9:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. Monday - Friday. We still have a limited number of yearbooks for sale in the front office. $30.00 each.

Good morning! BRCVPA is fortunate to have 4 Collection Point Buses at 3 Collection Points (Goodwood Library-2 , Southeast Middle-1 , Carver Library-1).

• These buses save both the parents and the school time every day! If we want to keep these buses, there are important safety rules that MUST be followed:
• Arrive EARLY for drop-off and pick-up.
• Other parents are not responsible for watching your child until you arrive.
• Treat the parking lot like the road, and follow the laws regarding buses. WHEN THE LIGHTS ARE FLASHING AND STOP SIGN IS OUT, CARS SHOULD NOT BE MOVING!
• This includes parents in cars who have already dropped off/picked up their child. Please remain PARKED until the school bus has left the parking lot.
• SAFETY IS THE #1 PRIORITY. Please use caution when entering and exiting the parking lot. School zone speed limits should be followed.

• School Dismissal Manager (SDM)

  • Purpose: notify school staff of change in afternoon transportation. You can also notify us if you plan to check out early, or check in late.
  • How to get set up: You should have received an email from “[email protected].” The subject line says: Baton Rouge Center for Visual and Performing Arts Parent Instructions & Details for School Dismissal Manager. Your credentials are in this email. You will receive a username and temporary password, and will be prompted to change your password upon log in. Please check your spam folder!

  • Purpose: GPS Bus Tracking of your child's bus. Also provides stop and route information.

  • Purpose: FUN! This is how you can see pictures of what is going on in the classrooms. We also post whole-school information and reminders about upcoming events.

​From BRCVPA to the Olympics in Paris. BRCVPA alum, Kenneth Hilliard, had the opportunity to design an Olympic uniform via a contest for the United States pair of Taryn Kloth and Kristen Nuss. Taryn and Kristen took to the sand on Thursday, August 1 in front of the Eiffel Tower wearing the uniforms he designed in a 2-1 victory over China.
