We had an absolute blast welcoming McKinley Middle Academic Magnet for their recruitment visit! All of the performances were fantastic! Shoutout to the Improv Team for including our 5th grader Victoria and our very own Mr. C in a fun round of Taxi! We were so excited to welcome Sherwood Middle Academic Magnet School to our campus for a recruiment visit! SMAMS singers, actors, dancers, and musicians performed for BRCVPA 5th Graders and even showed off a little bit of Alice In Wonderland, which is the BRCVPA 5th Grade Musical for this year! October 15th to October 18th, 2024, we will be celebrating Digital Citizenship Week across our district. Throughout this week, we’ll be emphasizing the importance of responsible, safe, and respectful online behavior, with a special theme each day.
On Wednesday, October 16th, we invite everyone to join our Digital Citizenship Pledge Signing Day and wear ORANGE in support of our Day of Unity. This is a meaningful opportunity for us to come together as a district to promote kindness, inclusion, and positive online interactions. We are so proud to announce our Content Teacher of the Year, Ms. Janae Hoskins and our Magnet Teacher of the Year, Ms. Raianna Yglesias! Congratulations ladies!! Ms. Hoskins will go on to compete at the District Level, and Ms. Yglesias will go on to compete for the Magnet Schools of America Teacher of the Year. They are both #1 in our eyes! The safety and well-being of our students, employees and their families remain our top priorities, and we believe that this measure is necessary given the predicted severe weather conditions. We encourage all families to take precautionary measures and to stay informed through reliable weather updates. Please note that all after-school activities and events scheduled for Wednesday and Thursday week will also be canceled. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation during this time. The district will adhere to normal dismissal procedures on Tuesday, all after-school activities are canceled for Tuesday afternoon (THIS INCLUDES BRCVPA EXTENDED DAY). District staff will continue to monitor the situation closely and provide updates as needed. School will resume as usual on Friday, Sept. 13, 2024, unless otherwise communicated.
