DEADLINE IS TODAY!!! In an effort to streamline the Transportation routes and procedures for the 2022-2023 school year, the Transportation Department is requesting that all families who think they will use EBR Bus Transportation for their child for next year complete this form by March 31st! This will help them to provide accurate bus manifests, and bus stops that make sense for families. We hope that you will take this opportunity and complete this form as soon as possible. Caps and Gowns will be provided by Spencer Studios, and their uniforms will not be seen. BRCVPA School Spirit Shirts would be cute for the Buddy Pic; regular maroon polos would also work. PLEASE NOTE: Tomorrow will be a Virtual/Remote Learning Day. Your child's teachers will communicate with you via ClassTag or Google Classroom to let your children know what to work on. Be advised that devices were sent home with some grade levels and work packets with others. *Not every teacher uses Google Classroom, so please stay tuned to ClassTag for announcements.  Spring and inspiration are bursting from the walls in the Arts Building! Current 2nd grade student Kate Norsworthy's sweet grandmother, "Mimi", has created a quilt full of color, shapes, patterns, rhythm, and inspiring words. The quilt is currently on display outside of Ms. A's Art classroom. Her masterpiece is surrounded by the artwork of our "budding artists"! A HUGE thank you to Kate Norsworthy and her family for sharing their quilt with us!
We are super excited about our Kindergarten mini-production next Thursday, March 31, 2022! Title: Change Sings Date: Thursday, March 31, 2022 Time: 9:30am Join us on a journey based on the children's book "Change Sings" by author Amanda Gorman where a young girl leads a cast of characters on a musical journey, and they learn that they have the power to make changes—big or small—in the world around them, in their local communities, and most importantly, in themselves! Please remember that this program will be live streamed only (parents and visitors are not able to be on campus to watch the performance in person) using the link below.  Based on the latest weather forecasts and guidance from state and local agencies, the East Baton Rouge Parish School System will dismiss early on Tuesday, March 22. All elementary schools will dismiss at 12:45 p.m. After-school activities will also be canceled. NO EXTENDED DAY TOMORROW!! All students must go home by either carpool or bus. Please expect longer carpool lines than usual and plan to be in the carpool line well before 12:45. The safety and security of our students and staff are our top priority. Camp Dynamics is a flagship summer camp for children with speech-language, learning, social and/or focus and attention challenges. Camp Dynamics is run by expert speech – language pathologists from Dynamic Therapy Specialists, LLC. While having fun and making new friends, campers create a memorable summer experience. Each day campers participate in targeted interventions designed to improve their social language and thinking, reading comprehension, written expression, peer interaction, and focus and attention. Guaranteeing a child's learning success while ensuring they have a fun and exciting summer experience like no other!
Ages: Ages 5-12 who are struggling with learning, focus and attention, reading and writing, and/or peer interactions. There is FREE admission to the museum AND the event! On Friday February 25, 2022 we held our annual Brotherhood, Sisterhood Award ceremony. These awards recognize one faculty member, one staff member, one male student, and one female student, who exemplify what it means to be a good citizen. These 4 honorees actively serve our school community, lead and inspire others, break personal barriers, and lead exemplary lives, all towards the goal of equality and togetherness. Now, more than ever, we need this award and awareness to assist in recognizing all the good happening in our community. Our guest speaker for the event was Ms. Rodneyna Hart. Ms. Hart has worked as an artist, board member, exhibitions manager, preparator, and curator for various galleries and museums throughout Louisiana. Advocating for more inclusive and intersectional cultural spaces, Hart created pop-up art events open to all with an educational component providing resources for emerging artists. She reestablished and served as Executive Director for the not-for-profit organization Culture Candy. She served on the state arts Council and was a Baton Rouge Business Reports 40 Under Forty. January of 2019, Ms. Hart accepted the position of Division Director for the Louisiana State Museum overseeing the four regional museums.
